Olympic logo a day

12/13/2011 by chicquero

Olympics, Let the games begin Super project from our friend Olympic Logo a Day, they got the coolest Olympic countdown: an Olympic Rings logo remade every day as they countdown to London 2012 (can´t wait). Sarah Hyndman´s is the artist behind these alternative design suggestions for the London 2012 Olympic rings. I love how  creative,  unexpected and colourful they are. The design of the official Olympic flag, which is five interconnected rings on a white background, was created Pierre de Coubertin in […]

A slap in the face for Society

11/22/2011 by chicquero

I´m a huge fan of great drawings and illustrations, especially those expressing some great satire. The Polish artist Paul Kuczynski (he needs to improve his website), has a great hand, not to mention his great mind. Take a minute to analyse each of the following images, they all have a great cause and a truthful message behind. In my opinion, his work is very well done in terms of colours, form and production. There is a social political commentary communicated and […]

Mustache Monday

11/21/2011 by chicquero

Mustache Freaks Mustache is that facial hair grown on the outer surface of the upper lip. It may or may not be accompanied by a type of beard, a facial hair style grown and cropped to cover most of the lower half of the face. The word “moustache” derives from 16th century French moustache, which in turn is derived from the Italian mostaccio.  Dave Mead is an Austin, Texas-based (why I’m not surprised?) photographer who shoots advertising and editorial with a primary focus on the […]

Holiday tease..

11/19/2011 by chicquero

Loewe Holiday Collection 2011/2012 What a brilliant campaign from Loewe’s, the spanish luxury brand specialized in high quality leather goods and accessories. They have been around since 1846, and lately, they are doing a really good marketing job. The following shoot is part of a very creative campaign to increase their holiday sales, I’m sure they will be fine! I love the simplicity and the colors contrasts with the pieces. These could be great displays, windows and a possible animated viral “stop […]

Omocha Densha – Toy Train The japanese designer Eiji Mitooka (couldn’t find his website for credits) created a child-friendly public transportation. The artistic force behind a regional train which travel on a daily basis on the 14.3km Kishigawa line in Japan. Dreaming in a pragmatic way.

11/15/2011 by chicquero

Dream Sequence Madame Peripetie aka Sylwana Zybura is a polish photographer based in Germany. The conceptual photographer is greatly influenced by Surrealism, Dadaism as well as the new wave era of the ’80s, British post punk scene and the avant-garde theater. I love her dreamy sequence, very out of this world. Sylwana explores the boundaries between fashion, photography and the human essence, experimenting through different colors, shapes and feelings. So peculiar, strange and beautiful, at the same time. Keep dreaming.. […]

11/14/2011 by chicquero

Optical Ilusion Great editorial for the British Idol Magazine (check it out the whole shoot and the complete look details). The world-renowned photographer Adam Richardson created these images inspired by the effect of optical illusion. I was wondering if they are 3-D.  I wouldn´t mind to have some Pierre Braganza, Junya Watanabe, Finsk, Topshop, Christian Louboutin, Peter Jensen, and etc, jumping out of my screen! 11/11/11

11/11/2011 by chicquero

1 (one) One is a number, a numeral, and the name of the glyph representing that number. It represents a single entity, the unit of counting or measurement. 11/11/11 Today is the last binary date of the 21st century (no need to cry my numerologist geeks). Friday 11/11/11 is a powerful date if you believe in the power of the numbers.  I believe it is a good date to start something new, or to finish an old habit. What about.. Startin a volunteer job? The tans will fade, but the memories will last forever . The great fashion photographer Zee Nunes, shot this clean poolside editorial for the first issue of Harper’s Bazaar Brasil (welcome to Brazil HBB, we love you). The Brazilian gorgeous, 33 years old model, Shirley Mallmann looks fierce in a classy look with a sporty vibe. I love the color blocked, applied by the stylist Renata Correa. Susie Q + Leo Siboni Suzie and Leo are a couple of young artists and fashion photographers. Although Suzie studied graphic design in art school and Leo focused on film studies, it is actually in the photo section of the Gobelins School in Paris that they confessed their common taste for B and Z movies.
