Let the festivities begin!

12/24/2012 by chicquero

It´s about time to get in the spirit with this playful rendition of Holiday treats in a cartoon-ish style.  Delicious traditional seasonal eats are highlighted in all their glory accompanied by antic doodles illustrated by Laura Hunter.  Thought up by freelance art director and designer Gonzalo Azores and senior creative at LBI London, Maria Vidal, they created this animated feast in collaboration with Barclaycard. Nutcrackers, pigs in a blanket, roasted veggies, Stilton cheese, cured ham, pies and many more favorites […]

Splash, drama & windows.

09/01/2012 by chicquero

Lanvin presents its new Splash installation, shockingly showcasing its Fall 2012 collection . This stop-you-in-your-tracks visual display is “awash with bursts of colors, fountains of paint, and bodies in motion,” states the trailblazing maison. This fresh setup uses color as a tool to deliver a dramatic shock factor. Tones of rich emerald green, raspberry red, and bluebird blue are splashed over mannequins in not-often-seen contorted positions, for a combination that definitely makes a scene. It depends on where you put the […]

Celebrities illustrated

06/27/2012 by chicquero

Pablo Lobato is a graphic designer and illustrator from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Soon after finishing his studies, Pablo started working as a graphic designer for different magazines. This, however, only lasted five years, since total boredom drove him back to his first passion – illustrations. Today, Pablo has made quite a name for him self in Argentina where he lives and works. His work is trully amazing, I love the colors, shapes and his “picasso” vibe. For more info about Pablo Lobato […]

Copywriter VS Art Director

06/18/2012 by chicquero

Great illustration project about the differences between copywriters and art directors by CW Versus AD. An art director oversees the art, photographs and drawn images, that appear in newspapers, magazines, ad campaigns and on book covers. An art director is usually the person who oversees the entire design department to coordinate what images will match up with what words. A copywriter hammers out the words that sell, promote, educate and inform. This means a great copywriter is gifted in the craft […]

Merging, camouflaging

05/30/2012 by chicquero

Ukranian fashion designer Masha Reva, graduated from Central Saint Martins is a true artist, using fashion as her present medium. Her most recent collection called Merging, is an homage to overkill, pattern on pattern, nature vs nurture. The images resonate a modern Renaissance, as we are constantly bombarded with images, stuff, ideas, we try to compartmentalize and organize. Here, Reva’s very successful attempt at materializing, through imagery, her thoughts and emotions. It is a testament that with our creativity we can […]

The tans will fade, but the memories will last forever . The great fashion photographer Zee Nunes, shot this clean poolside editorial for the first issue of Harper’s Bazaar Brasil (welcome to Brazil HBB, we love you).
